Windows 7 Flickering windows?

how do i solve this annoying Win7 bug?

no matter what window im on, as soon as i click, it "flickers"

i could be typing something, all of a sudden it flickers and selects all text while im busy typing so i lose what ive done

Tried reinstalling DirectX,, Tried reinstalling Flash, reformatting does NOTHING for the problem

Aero is turned off, Indexing service is turned off and im using the Windows Classic theme, still flickering

tried every virus/spyware/malware scan under the sun, all of them finding nothing, not even trend Micro HijackThis is seeing anything out of the ordinary

what do i do?

should i go back to XP? and how would i buy an XP key since XP is "obselete"

never EVER had these issues in winXP

i know that theres a WinXP virtualization mode, but thats useless as it only has a 16 bit refresh rate

i have tried a google search, but none of the solutions helped me

using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Built to order computers
Martin k

i’m also using Windows 7 ultimate, Both 32 and 64bit versions.
as a technician i started using Win7 9 months before it was released,

I beleive you are wrong to call this a windows 7 Bug,
if it was, everyone would be having your issue, this issue is isolated to your computer, in 1 year i have not heard of anyone having the same issue. so chances are it’s not a windows 7 thing.

Also you stated you reformatted the system.
that only leaves 2 basic options, either your monitor is dying.
or your graphics card is at fault.
if you got no card, then unfortunately your motherboard is faulty with the onboard graphics, if it’s onboard graphics, see if you can borrow a freinds graphics card to test the issue, and borrow a spare monitor and see what happens when you swap it.
further to that, it’s probably the Resolution or refresh rate on your card settings, don’t agree with the monitor, revert to a lower setting, start from 1024×768

further to that it could be system instability due to overclocking (if you have) or it could be a virus, (what antivirus do you use).

these are the main things to consider, but i seriously doubt that it’s a fault of windows 7, if it’s the registry and it’s a virus it’s the fault of the antivirus program, with the board, cheap boards = trouble

hope this helps to some degree

How to fix? Unable to load XP.?

Hello Friends.

I reinstalled my Xp as it is effected by a virus. I formatted the entire hard disk and repartitioned the drive. Everything went fine. Then i installed "ALTIRIS VIRTUALISATION" software. Hope u r familiar with this. If not, Its a virtualisation software to capture the changes made by Third party softwares while installing to XP and thus keeps the system safe by protecting the registry.

Then i installed "NORTON GOBACK" with Altiris ON. Then it asked for a restart and i did. From then onwards the OS is not loading. When started normally, it gives a error message "AUTOCHK MISSING – AUTOCHECK SKIPPED". I tried to boot in safe mode but it restarts immediately while loading "c:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/DRIVERS/MUP.SYS".

Even the rescue cd’s are futile. The NORTON GOBACK failed to restore the system. Now i can reinstall the OS but the problem is that The hard disk is shown as entire one drive without any partitions. Actually i made 6 partitions.

Please suggest a solution.

NORTON GOBACK is probably your problem, there have been a number of incidents where NORTON GOBACK has failed and taken drives with it.

Why only 3gb(3070)ram showing up?4gb installed.?

Ive searched and I’ve searched endlessly for a solution trying to avoid calling for customer support.

Many of the people who had the same problem as i have all ran a 32bit OS and i know 32bit doesn’t or from what i gathered during their time of posting didn’t support more than a little over 3gbs.

I currently have Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit as my OS. My bios reads 4096mb and system properties reads 4gb, yet my task manager shows me at 3gb.

I thought maybe it was just being ate by system stuff and that was just not going to be alloted to me, like hdd space, i took out 1 stick and my TM read about 2086, swapped them out to see if i had a bad stick same thing.

Ive looked into Ram Remapping and what little M$ info i could find on it seems to say i meet the requirements but my bios is just lacking the feature.

Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Processor T9550
Supported Features:
Enhanced Intel Speedstep® Technology
Intel® EM64T<——–
Intel® Virtualization Technology
Execute Disable Bit

And i have a 64bit OS Thinking about reinstalling the Hell that was Windows 7 so i can test my ram gains on it.(great Os just fought for drivers for hrs and hrs until i gave up) then i had to fight to get it off my system without the boot.ini and the beast that is "bcdedit" woot go M$
Ive been into the Bios, Nvidia Control panel, Device manager, etc etc nothing lets me choose how much is allocated to my Gpu
i was sure it was the gpu, since it was showing 2gb in some property maybe a game was telling me i had 2gb of video memory. its a Dedicated gpu nvidia 130m

Do you have onboard video? If you do change the amount of RAM the video chipset uses in the BIOS.

Just a thought.

run more than one OS(already installed on hard drive) at once?

i have Vista and XP installed on 2 partitions on my hard drive and i want to run XP and vista at the same time. could anyone recommend a solution or a program that may help me. thnx in advance

please dont post stupid answers lik "who cares" or "i dont know"

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT OS VIRTUALIZATION (VIRTUAL PC 2007)

At the same time? use VMWare Workstation and when you select a virtual hard drive or whatever pick "use physical disk" and chose the other partition. Itll be like a VM but use the OS on that partition. This is the only way to do this, so its your only choice.
